Vanuatu: Efate
Island and Tanna Island, February 1998
Vanuatu former New Hebridiges is a
small island state approx. 2 hours West of Fiji in airplane. Vanautu was
previously ruled by both France and England at the same time. Some places they
speak English on one side of the road and French on the other side e.g. on Tanna
Island.
Vanuatu offers you
many experiences beyond the normal touristy experiences. E.g. on Tanna Island
you can get VERY close to a VERY active volcano, you can swim with a ½ tame sea
cow, you can see the original boongi jump (no elastic rubber rope but lianas).
Vanuatu is a paradise on earth.

I stayed twelve days at Friendly Bungalows run by
a French family Stevenson. They were very friendly and the wife served very nice
food every day.
The bungalows are situated
just down to the sea shore - just like in paradise.
